Steve is the company owner and founder of SVZ Performance.
In the face of a confusing and contradicting fitness industry many people struggle to find a strategy that is both manageable and sustainable. Steve believes in a fad-free approach to exercise that must be specifically tailored around an individual’s goals, lifestyle, physical abilities, and limitations.
Prior to his career as a trainer, Steve led soldiers as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, which included a year tour in Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2006, Steve left the military, but took his discipline, determination, and motivation with him and applied it to his passion for health and fitness.
Steve has since obtained numerous certifications and degrees including the highly regarded Resistance Training Specialist® (RTS®), NSCA’s Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS) and personal trainer (NSCA-CPT), the ISSN Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN), a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science & Health Promotion, and a Masters degree in Health & Fitness Management, which included the acquiring of the highly touted Muscle Activation Techniques™ Specialist Certification.
Steve’s knowledge in biomechanics and force principles has allowed him to establish a diverse client base ranging from post rehab individuals to elite level NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB athletes. Steve maintains a high thirst for knowledge as he continues to tirelessly dedicate himself to daily study and research.
Maya is a certified personal trainer and certifed specialist in Greg Roskopf’s Muscle Activation Techniques™ (MAT) whose clients range from 12 to 70 years of age. She has studied the mechanics of exercise via the highly regarded Resistance Training Specialist® 123 program and has a background in Culinary Arts from The Art Institute of Philadelphia.
Classical Pilates Instructor
Ms Jackie received her Classical Pilates certification from Romana's Pilates in 2007. In 2013 Ms Jackie was given Teacher Trainer Level 4 Certification. Since the beginning of her career teaching Classical Pilates, she has developed a focus on athletic performance, emphasizing joint stabilization and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries.
Ms Jackie's teaching career started when she became a Pilates Coordinator for Equinox Fitness Clubs in NYC in addition to her position as an instructor at True Pilates New York, home of Romana's Pilates.
Throughout her career she has worked with players from the NFL, MLS, MLB and NBA, as well IFBB Pro Figure Models, LPGA, professional figure skaters, US Racquetball Assoc. and Broadway dancers.
After relocating to South Florida, Ms Jackie opened her own business, True Pilates Miami. Throughout each year Ms Jackie continues her own education with Romana's Pilates Senior Teacher Trainers, Sari Mejia Santo, Juanita Lopez, Daria Pace Fox, Cynthia Shipley, Jerome Weinberg, Roxanne Huang, Marjorie Oron, Javier Perez Pont and Janice Dulak.
Jackie recently completed Greg Roskopf's Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) Specialist Program.
